What syncs

Sync sends structured fields from your state files, and nothing else. Free-form notes and anything clinical stay on your computer.

Sent for every system

Each block is sent only if its file exists and has rows.

Away statuses

Programs in the away tracker use these statuses: considering, applied, offered, accepted, declined, not_offered, waitlisted, completed, withdrawn.

  • declined means you turned the offer down.
  • not_offered means the host didn't make an offer or cancelled.

Letters move through potential, planned, asked, agreed, uploaded, or declined. Writer names can be initials.

Never sent

  • session logs, rotation or clinical notes, drafts, personal statements, decision notes
  • passwords, logins, USMLE, NBME, AAMC, or NRMP IDs, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers
  • anything that could identify a patient

The server also drops any field outside the published format, so a dashboard can never show something unexpected. Field-level details are in the Sync API reference.
